SMARTIUM is a data processing expert for applications in physical measurement. The company combines Artificial Intelligence (AI), numerical modeling, and Monte Carlo simulation to provide custom, reliable, precise, and flexible software solutions.
Technical/scientific Challenge:
SMARTIUM conducts advanced simulations in nuclear physics, which require substantial computational resources. The company faced the challenge of accelerating complex numerical simulations while also training AI models on much larger datasets. Their ultimate goal was to optimize their radioactivity measurement system, ensuring both precision and reliability under demanding computational conditions.
Solution:
To address these challenges, SMARTIUM was provided with high-performance GPU and CPU resources at the ROMEO computing center. Numerical simulations were executed on the ROMEO CPU Cluster, while AI and deep learning models were trained on the available GPUs. In addition, SMARTIUM received dedicated technical support to maximize the efficiency of these computing resources and to fully leverage the capabilities of the system.
Business impact:
Thanks to this solution, SMARTIUM achieved more accurate predictions and simulations for their measurement systems. The performance and reliability of their radioactivity measurement processes improved significantly, enabling faster and more precise analyses. This led to better-informed decisions and strengthened confidence in the company’s nuclear measurement solutions.
Benefits:
- 1,500 GPU hours used for training and simulation,
- Significant acceleration of computations and analyses,
- Increased accuracy of predictive models.
