Energy Oriented Center of Excellence
EoCoE III demonstrates the benefit of HPC for the net-zero energy transition for research institutes and also for key industries in the energy sector, channeling its efforts into 5 exascale lighthouse applications covering the key domains of Energy Materials, Water, Wind and Fusion.
The multidisciplinary effort of the consortium partners harnesses innovations in computer science and mathematical algorithms within a tightly integrated co-design approach to overcome performance bottlenecks, to deploy the lighthouse applications on the coming European exascale infrastructure, and to anticipate future HPC hardware developments.

The EoCoE Centre of Excellence: HPC for energy team is proud to be part of the organization of the CINI HPC Summer School!
The third edition of the school will be held from June 16 to 20, 2025 in Naples, Italy. This year, the event promoted by the HPC Laboratory: Key Technologies and Tools of the National Inter-university Consortium for Informatics (CINI), with the support of the National Research Center in HPC, Big Data and Quantum Computing, is organized by Pasqua D'Ambra - Institute for Applications of Calculus "Mauro Picone" (IAC) of the National Research Council (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), Marco Lapegna - Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (UniNa) / University of Naples Federico II
and Raffaele Montella - Università degli Studi di Napoli 'Parthenope'.
The Summer School aims to offer an intensive program that fully covers the hardware and software aspects fundamental to the design and implementation of parallel and distributed computing solutions. Recognized experts from the academic and industrial world will lead the sessions during the five-day school, providing participants with an up-to-date overview of the latest developments and major challenges in high-performance computing.
The event is supported by Italian and international sponsors from the academic and industrial world.
Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes theoretical lectures on fundamental and advanced concepts of HPC, hands-on tutorials, and mentoring focusing on four main thematic areas:
● Architectures
● Programming Models and Tools
● Accelerators
● Libraries, Applications, and Performance Evaluation
The program is designed for a diverse audience, including Ph.D. students, early-career researchers, professional engineers in the industry, and outstanding undergraduate students. This year's edition has been a remarkable success, with over 100 participants selected from 173 applicants worldwide.
