Event/Course Description

Thermodynamic functions, such as enthalpy, internal energy, entropy, and free energy, provide the thermodynamic equilibrium of a physical-chemical system under certain conditions. To ensure predictive accuracy, it is necessary for the values of these functions to be determined with high precision. A commonly used methodology for predictive estimation of potentials is composite models based on quantum chemical principles. Within the course framework, composite models implemented in ORCA are presented, and the presentation extends to the applicability of computational results beyond standard conditions. In this presentation, working with the quantum chemistry software ORCA allows us to quickly proceed to the preparation of the first input and the first quantum chemical calculations.
