MaX Centre of Excellence (CoE) launches a new podcast series titled “Voices of MaX”, designed to open the doors of advanced materials research and high-performance computing to a broader audience.

The podcast aims to explain, in simple terms, the objectives and outputs of the MaX project. This initiative is part of MaX CoE’s mission to make its achievements more accessible and to show the public how European research efforts are shaping the future through innovation and technology.

The series includes four short conversations, each featuring a leading expert involved in the MaX project. These guest speakers explain how the work of their team contributes to solving some of today’s scientific and technological challenges:

  • Stefan Blügel (Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany) explores the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating scientific discovery.
  • Mariella Ippolito (CINECA, Italy) talks about improving the performance and efficiency of MaX software for scientific research.
  • Jan Jona Javorsek (Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia) explains how MaX open-source codes are being deployed on the European powerful computers.
  • Nicola Marzari (EPFL, Switzerland) presents the efforts of MaX in creating a digital infrastructure that makes science more accessible across Europe.

Each episode offers a concise explanation of complex topics, allowing anyone, regardless of background, to understand how scientific computing is impacting materials research. Listen to “Voices of MaX” and discover how science is shaping our future, one atom at a time.
