Overview

This training course focuses on the foundations of NoSQL databases through an introduction of the motivation behind NoSQL databases, different types of data models, and querying with different types of NoSQL databases.

Description

NoSQL databases, which emerged with the growing and changing data management needs, are frequently used in different fields and applications. In this seminar, we give basic answers to the questions of what is the NSQL database, from what needs it emerged, and what are its main features. The course is composed of two parts. In the first part, basic theoretical knowledge on NoSQL databases and querying is presented. In the second part, we present MongoDB and Neo4J querying applications as examples for Document and Graph databases.

Basic knowledge on relational database model and SQL.
