NCC Sweden – ENCCS
ENCCS is the EuroCC National Competence Centre in Sweden and part of the European network of National Competence Centres supported by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. ENCCS supports industry, academia, and public sector organisations in accessing and using European supercomputing resources and advanced computing technologies.
Our mission is to help organisations adopt high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance data analytics (HPDA), and related technologies to solve complex challenges and accelerate innovation.
ENCCS organises training activities covering a broad range of topics, including parallel programming, GPU programming, AI and machine learning workflows, performance engineering, scientific software development, and HPC best practices. Our workshops combine practical exercises with hands-on experience and are delivered by experts from ENCCS and partner organisations across Europe.
In addition to training, ENCCS provides technical support and consultancy for organisations that want to integrate HPC into their workflows. This includes guidance on code optimisation, software porting, GPU acceleration, scalability analysis, and access to EuroHPC JU supercomputers.
ENCCS also collaborates with research groups, companies, and public authorities in projects related to computational science and engineering. These collaborations include work with applications and software such as GROMACS, NEK5000, EC-Earth, VeloxChem, and other scientific and industrial HPC workflows.

Training at ENCCS
We offer workshops, webinars, and hackathons focused on practical HPC skills and emerging technologies. Our training activities cover topics such as MPI, OpenMP, GPU programming, containers, machine learning workflows, and performance optimisation.
Our hackathons are designed to help participants solve real technical challenges together with HPC experts. Participants work closely with mentors on tasks such as improving code performance, enabling parallelisation, porting applications to GPUs, or adapting workflows for large-scale computing environments.
Collaborations and Success Stories
Many companies and organisations require computing power beyond what is possible with standard desktop systems. Through the EuroHPC infrastructure, ENCCS helps users access advanced computing resources capable of handling large-scale simulations, AI workloads, and data-intensive applications.
ENCCS has supported a wide range of successful collaborations involving industry, research institutes, and public organisations. Examples include projects in battery research, climate modelling, speech technology, and digital heritage preservation.
