CASTIEL 2 Presentation at the EuroHPC User Days in Copenhagen
Date: September 30th, 2025
Panel Session on “Accessing EuroHPC Support Services”
Presentation on the project CASTIEL 2 (Coordination and Support for National Competence Centres and Centres of Excellence) by Dr. Natalie Lewandowski
In the panel session on Accessing EuroHPC Support Services Natalie Lewandowski presented the various offers of CASTIEL 2 and its related projects: EuroCC 2 and EuroCC4SEE, with over 33 National Competence Centres (NCCs) in HPC, and the EuroHPC Centers of Excellence. Through CASTIEL 2, HPC users and prospective users can access various support offers, ranging from information access on HPC competences, services and training offers all over Europe, via the HPC in Europe Portal (hpc-portal.eu), to hands-on support via Proof-of-concept studies and consulting in HPC for companies, public entities and academia.
Lewandowski also highlighted the HPC Service Hub (accessible also via the HPC in Europe Portal), where users can find information about available services of the National Competence Centres in their respective countries and also services from many Centers of Excellence, and find the right contact person for their inquiry.
The services include HPC and AI trainings, HPC consulting, hands-on problem solving, code support or even co-development with SMEs and start-ups within a multitude of HPC-related domains. The service offer is directed at both new and non-HPC-familiar users as well as HPC and AI professionals and is free of charge for the users within the EuroCC and CASTIEL projects.
The presentation underlined that users can receive help and advice directly in their country and in their national language via their own NCC, or rely on the tight European network of NCCs and CoEs, to receive the answers they need from one of the European partner entities.
