Stuttgart, October 31, 2025 — Today marks the launch of the HPC in Europe Portal, a centralised platform that unites EU-funded high-performance computing (HPC) resources, services, and expertise in one place. Starting with the first key projects, the portal will progressively expand to encompass the full breadth of Europe’s HPC ecosystem, making supercomputing more accessible and connected than ever before.

The launch of the portal addresses a critical need for a cohesive digital space where stakeholders can access relevant HPC information without navigating through scattered websites. By simplifying information discovery and encouraging collaboration, the HPC in Europe Portal sets a new standard for digital integration and community building within the European HPC landscape.
Developed under the framework of the EuroHPC JU-funded CASTIEL 2 project, the portal consolidates individual digital resources into a single, user-friendly platform. In collaboration with the HPC SPECTRA project, also funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, it features a unified pan-European training platform designed to advance HPC expertise across Europe.
The HPC in Europe Portal serves as a comprehensive resource for a diverse range of stakeholders, including researchers, industry professionals, public authorities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), universities, and funding agencies. Initially, the portal will highlight content from the European National Competence Centres (NCCs) and the Centres of Excellence (CoEs), with plans to expand and incorporate additional EU-funded HPC initiatives in future development phases.
The HPC in Europe Portal unites EU-funded supercomputing resources in one hub, making projects more visible, training more accessible, and collaboration across Europe’s HPC community stronger than ever.

CASTIEL 2 continues the mission of supporting coordination and networking across National Competence Centres and Centres of Excellence in HPC, helping to build a stronger, more connected European HPC ecosystem. The project is funded by the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (JU) under grant agreement No. 101102047, supported by the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme and co-financed by member states including Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Austria, and Estonia.

The EuroHPC JU is a legal and funding entity that brings together the European Union and participating countries to coordinate efforts and pool resources with the objective of making Europe a world leader in supercomputing.
To equip Europe with a cutting-edge supercomputing infrastructure, the EuroHPC JU is deploying supercomputers, as well as quantum computers and AI Factories across the continent. European scientists and users from the public sector and industry can benefit from these EuroHPC systems through the EuroHPC Access Calls, regardless of their location in Europe, to advance science and support the development of applications with industrial, scientific, and societal relevance.
