Overview
This training course, a part of CFD Seminar Series, focuses on the introduction to CFD, hands-on experience on open source CFD software installation and usage, examples of CFD applications, and how to run CFD simulations on HPC systems.
Description
Introduction to an open-source Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software OpenFOAM and hands-on applications will be given in this one-day training. With this CFD software, which can solve Navier-Stokes equations using different turbulence models, from Reynolds-Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) equations to Large-Eddy Simulations (LES), different flow problems can be solved numerically. The objective is to give general information about OpenFOAM open source CFD software, to give information about basic working principles, to explain sending serial and parallel jobs on TRUBA parallel computers, and to show sample applications.
