Topic: Introduction to Quantum Computing

Overview:

The Introduction to Quantum Computing Workshop is a two-week online workshop (with a total of 6 sessions, each lasting approximately 2 hours) focusing on the fundamentals of quantum computing and quantum programming. The first week will cover a quick overview of Linear Algebra, postulates of quantum mechanics, an overview of quantum operators, Bloch sphere representation, and quantum algorithms. The second week consists of the QBronze workshop, an introductory-level quantum workshop series based on the open-source introductory material Bronze prepared by QWorld. The workshop's scope includes the preliminaries of quantum computing, the implementation of basic quantum protocols, and algorithms.

Bronze is a task-based tutorial comprising around 30 Jupyter notebooks. Participants will complete the tutorial with mentoring support through Discord and live sessions conducted by the TÜBİTAK and QTurkey teams. Daily assignments will be given on Canvas, and participants who successfully complete these tasks will receive a Bronze certificate from QTurkey after the workshop.

Online sessions will be held via Zoom between 15:00-17:15 GMT+3 in the first week and 14:00-16:00 GMT+3 in the second week.

TA (Teaching Assistant) sessions will be held every evening during the QBronze training (December 18-21).
