Event/Course Description

This workshop will bring together experts and researchers to discuss recent advances in hydrodynamics modeling, multiscale coupling methods, AI-driven approaches, large-scale simulations, and HPC technologies. The program will feature lectures, discussions, and hands-on sessions covering:

  • Cutting-edge hydrodynamics methods
  • Multiscale approaches for coupling different models/methods across length scales
  • AI techniques for improving couplings, boundary conditions, and constitutive equations
  • Large-scale simulations of hydrodynamics applications
  • HPC-enabling technologies, software packages, and workflows

Invited Speakers:

  • Matija Gatalo – Black powder at the ‘heart’ of hydrogen technologies
  • Jens Harting – Capillary interactions between soft capsules, hard particles, and droplets at thin fluid films
  • Sergey Karabasov – Fluid dynamics modeling from micro to macro scales
  • Paul Desmarchelier – From explicit to implicit models of electric double-layer nanocapacitors with tunable metallicity
  • Robert Dominko – How a computational approach can accelerate battery development
  • Matevz Dular – Interaction of a cavitation bubble and a nearby structure
  • Marco Ellero – Lagrangian Heterogeneous Multiscale Method for polymeric fluids
  • Jean-Philip Piquemal – Large-scale simulations for biophysics: from polarizable force fields to neural networks
  • Tilen Potisk – Learning macroscopic equations of motion from dissipative particle dynamics simulations
  • Rocio Semino – Multiscale modeling of metal-organic frameworks and their composites
  • Sergio Decherchi – NanoShaper: A tool for molecular surface computation and pocket detection
  • Miha Ravnik – Passive and active topological soft matter
  • Carlo de Falco – Performance portability in a compressible fluid simulator based on the material point method
