Overview
This training course, a two-day summer school on CFD, focuses on the introduction to CFD, hands-on experience on open-source CFD software installation and usage, examples of CFD applications, and how to run CFD simulations on HPC systems.
Description
Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and hands-on applications will be given in this two-day summer school. General introduction to CFD, governing equations, numerical methods, main steps of performing CFD simulations, pre-and post-processing steps, and parallel computing performance will be discussed. A brief introduction to turbulence modeling in CFD simulations will be provided, and examples CFD simulations will be shown. General information about open-source CFD software (SU2, Code_Saturne, etc.) will be given and sample hands-on CFD applications and performing parallel runs on TRUBA HPC system will be shown.
